APK Installation on Android
Why does Android show a security warning when installing?
Android includes an intentional security mechanism called "Install unknown apps" for any software distributed outside Google Play. Because your development builds are signed by your own developer certificate, Android simply asks for user confirmation before proceeding. To complete installation, testers toggle "Allow from this source" when prompted.
Do testers need to install an extra app to test?
No. Testers can download APKs directly using any standard mobile browser (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox). We also offer an optional companion app at /download for teams who want single-tap installs and immediate notifications.
Privacy & Security
Are my client builds kept private?
Yes. Standard project workspaces are private to the account holder and explicitly invited team members. We do not index private development builds in public directories or distribute them to third-party search engines.
Does APKFlight claim any affiliation with Google Play?
No. APKFlight is an independent SaaS platform created to facilitate internal development workflows. We do not claim Google Play affiliation or endorsement.
Builds & Quotas
What is the maximum APK upload size?
APKFlight currently accepts `.apk` packages up to 100MB per file upload.
How do build retention limits work?
Free accounts store up to 5 builds per project; Basic tier accounts store up to 20 builds per project. You can delete outdated builds from your project dashboard at any time to free up capacity.
